Usana Founder


Our Founder, Dr Myron Wentz Usana Health Sciences was founded by Dr Myron Wentz who is a known microbiologist, immunologist as well as one of the few pioneers of human cell culture technology development. Dr Myron Wentz holds a degree in biology and masters in microbiology while his Ph.D was obtained from the University of Utah where he majored in microbiology and immunology. He brings with him years of medical experience which includes serving as an infectious diseases specialist with a pathology group in Peoria. He would then move into his own operation through Gull Laboratories with much success and in 1992, he started the Usana Health Sciences after selling his controlling stake in Gull Laboratories. In June 2007, Dr. Wentz received the Albert Einstein Nobel Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Life Sciences.


In 2007 Dr. Wentz was honored with the Albert Einstein Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Life Sciences. In 2009 the new Children’s Hunger Fund Malawi Medical Center opened and was named after USANA’s founder. In 2011 Dr. Wentz received the Multi Level Marketing International Award (MLMIA) Industry 5 Star Award and co-authored the national best-selling book, The Healthy Home.
